The value of eating right is more then just a number on the scale. Here are 5 strategies to improve ways to eat better in 2017.
Eat Whole and feel whole
Introducing more whole foods in to your diet. A whole is minimally processed and has less preservatives and additives. Eating more plant based whole goods can reduce a persons risk of chronic diseases. like diabetes, heart diseases and cancer. Whole plants based foods are loaded with vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and other phytochemicals. Processed foods have been stripped of a lot of nutrients during the manufacturing process.
Fail to plan and plan to fail
Making a meal plan a week is ahead is important, otherwise you are at risk of eating a grab and go snacks that are full of processed foods. Spend 10 minutes at the end of your weekend, to sit down, and make a list of meal ideas for the week ahead. Include whole fruits and vegetables into your meal ideas every day. As a bonus you'll be likely to save money when you skip take out meals.
Variety is the spice of life and health
Make sure to always shake things up when you're eating. This can keep meals interesting and help you stay motivated to eat well. It also ensured you're getting a broader range of nutrients. Try not to eat the same meals two days in a row.
Eat this not that
Instead of grabbing grab and go items like cereal, health bars, store made smoothies or muffins. Choose nuts, roasted beans, fruits, veggies and hummus. Be strict with drinks to sodas, soft drinks and juice are high in sugar. Chose water and squeeze lemon into it.
