- According to the preliminary data from the National Safety Council, as many as 40,000 people died in motor vehicle accidents in 2016.
- In the 5 seconds it takes a person to look at their phone they can drive the length of a football field.
- At any given moment across America, approximately 660,000 drivers are using their cell phone or manipulating electronic device while driving.
- It is illegal to text and drive in 46 states.
- Drivers talking on the phone can miss up to 50% of their driving environment, including pedestrians and red lights.
- Drivers using handheld or hand free cell phone are 4 times as likely to crash.
Put the phones down and wait. Your life and others are more important.
